Glorious gala glow

The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan, Minn., was the venue for Norway House’s Midtsommer Gala.

Norway House’s annual signature event, the “Midtsommer Gala,” held at the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan, Minn., June 13, was a smashing success. Guests arrived to the hotel lit up in blue, the Norway House color, setting the mood for an evening of fun and festivities. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Going Viking awards to John R. Tunheim, Chief U.S. District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and Mats Zuccarello, professional winger for the Minnesota Wild ice hockey team.

Alan Dunbar

Award-winning baritone Alan Dunbar holds a bachelor’s degree in music theory and composition from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and advanced degrees in vocal performance from Indiana University in Bloomington. Dunbar was a founding member of the Minnesota-based internationally acclaimed male chamber vocal ensemble Cantus. They made numerous recordings and sang throughout North America and Europe from 1998-2004. Dunbar continues to perform as a soloist and teaches voice at Winona State University in Winona, Minn.
