Flooding caused by heavy rain and snowmelt has forced

Flooding caused by heavy rain and snowmelt on Tuesday, March 22, affected about 30 homes in Orkdal, Trøndelag, and created hazardous driving conditions.

About 30 homes have been flooded in the Trøndelag hamlet of Orkdal , following heavy rains and melting snow on March 22. More homes are threatened in the nearby districts, NRK reports.

In Orkdal municipal crews worked all night to try to keep the flood level down, but more rain is forecast for Wednesday.

The bad weather has also affected road traffic in the Trøndelag counties, as well as along the rest of the coast down to Bergen.

At last count more than 50 roads were closed to traffic due to flooding or threat of avalanches.
