Article on Norwegian documentaries in Monocle magazine
Monocle magazine – a global briefing covering international affairs, business, culture and design – focuses on Norwegian documentaries under the heading “Keep it reel – Norway” in its October issue, reports the Norwegian Film Institute.
Over five pages in its October issue, high-end lifestyle and business magazine Monocle gives a widespread and thorough presentation of Norwegian documentary films and filmmakers. Writer Johnny Davies emphasizes “(…) a new wave of documentary filmmaking in Norway bolstered by government funding and the country’s talent pool”.
In addition to interviews with directors and producers such as Aslaug Holm and Tore Buvarp of Fenris film (The Rich Country), Thomas Østbye (Human) and Jan Dalchow of Dalchows Verden (USA vs Al-Arian), the article gives international readers a good glimpse into Norwegian talent scheme New Roads To Documentaries (Nye veier til dokumentar) through an interview with documentary consultant at the Norwegian Film Institute, Stig Andersen.
