The prince will turn six on December 3.

The youngest child of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit started at Jonsløkka school in Asker today. He was accompanied by his parents and his grandmother HRM Queen Sonja.

On reaching the school, the Prince was met by another student, his sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who is a year ahead of him.

According to a release by the Royal Palace in Oslo, all the beginning students and their families gathered outside the school for a welcome by principal Else Beitnes Johansen. The introduction program ended with a roll call of all the students by class–blue, green, yellow and red. Prince Sverre Magnus will begin in the blue class; his tutor will be Turid Røsok Myhre.

After the welcome, the children and their parents proceeded to their respective classrooms.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra was the first of the Royal Family to begin in Jansløkka school. Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Martha Louise attended Smestad. Smestad was King Harald’s primary school as well, but because of the war his first day of school was in the United States.
