FILM&KINO honors Haddal and Bang-Hansen

Norwegian film journalists and critics Per Haddal and Pål Bang-Hansen received the FILM&KINO’s Aamot statuette during the Norwegian cinema association’s annual meeting at Hamar on June 8.

Haddal and Bang-Hansen were awarded FILM&KINO’s highest honor for their achievements in film criticism, having left their marks on “Norwegian film reality, film discussion and film interest” for almost 50 years.

Haddal has been a film critic for the newspaper Aftenposten for over 30 years, from 1978 to February 2009. He has also written books about film legends Ivo Caprino and Liv Ullmann.

Bang-Hansen is one of the most popular TV and radio film personalities in Norway. He was Norwegian public broadcaster NRK’s Mr. Film for more than 20 years. He has also worked as an actor on ten film and TV productions, including Arne Skouen’s 1949 Gategutter (Street Urchins). As a director, he has filmed six movies such as the 1972 hit comedy Norske byggeklosser.

The Aamot Statuette was given last year to cinematographer Harald Gunnar Paalgard.
