Farmers demanding higher income

Norwegian farmers are not satisfied with the current level of state subsidies.
Agricultural organizations claim that higher income for Norwegian farmers is absolutely necessary, and predicts farmers will make large demands during negotiations this spring.
While agricultural subsidies amounted to nearly 7 percent of the national budget in 1980, subsidies have hovered around 1.5 percent during the past six years.
In 2010, 1.3 percent of the national budget was spent on agricultural subsidies, according to the newspaper Nationen.
