ONLINE: Vesterheim June Bokprat (Book Club)

book cover for An Enemy of the PeopleDr. Maren Johnson, Luther College’s Associate Professor of Nordic Studies and Torgerson Center for Nordic Studies Director, facilitates a monthly bokprat, discussing Scandinavian authors and Scandinavian life. Henrik Ibsen remains the second most often played playwright in the world behind William Shakespeare. Join Dr. Johnson in June for a conversation about the play An Enemy of the People, a later part of Ibsen’s collection of work that explores the tensions of economics and ethics, loyalty to family and profit. Supplies: A computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

Special Instructions: Registrants should secure their own copy of the book and have read it prior to the discussion. When registering for the class, please make sure to use the email address you’d like the Zoom meeting invitations sent to.You will receive a link to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the discussion.
