ONLINE: Rosemaling for Beginners
August 14 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Rosemaling is Norway’s traditional decorative folk painting that was used to decorate wooden items commonly used in daily life, such as ale bowls, stools, and chairs. Using stylized techniques made up of fantasy flowers, scroll work and fine line work, and flowing patterns give rosemaling its unique feel.
In this beginner level class, you will learn about materials, how to use them, and how to make a wet palette. You will practice brush loading and how to make the basic rosemaling strokes. After you are familiar with the strokes and feel comfortable, the class will paint an ornament using your newly learned skills! This class includes 3 brushes, palette knife, paper to practice on, and an ornament. Paint, mediums and palette paper will be provided for use in the class.
