ONLINE: Free Concert with Chicago Speelmanslag

June 27 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Join Vesterheim, the National Norwegian-American Museum and Folk Art School, on Sunday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. (CT) for an online concert of Scandinavian music with Chicago Spelmanslag! The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration by June 26 is required.
For more than 25 years Chicago Spelmanslag has been playing folk music from the Nordic countries. While the fiddle is the main instrument, expect to hear nyckelharpa, guitar, and bass fiddle. Other instruments include Hardanger fiddle (hardingfele), cowhorn (kohorn), mandola (låtmandola), various folk flutes (Härjedalpipor, seljefløyte), jaw harp (mungiga), button accordion (torader), and Swedish bagpipes (säckpipa).

Vesterheim is grateful to the sponsors for their generous support – Martha Griesheimer and the United States Regional Arts Resilience Fund Phase 1, an initiative of Arts Midwest and its peer United States Regional Arts Organizations made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
