Emil Hegle Svendsen Video Interview

Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway and Magdalena Neuner of Germany capped their seasons as they received the large crystal globe trophies symbolic of their World Cup Overall titles.

First Crystal Globes

Claiming the Overall victory was a first time experience for Svendsen while Neuner experienced this in 2008. Neither of the winners competed in every competition, for a variety of reasons from sickness to training. However when they did start, the two were dominant. Neuner was on the podium thirteen times and Svendsen nine times. Neuner won two Olympic Gold medals and a Silver medal, as did Svendsen.

Additional Titles

Besides the Overall titles, both also won smaller globes. Neuner won the Pursuit and Mass Start titles, while Svendsen also won the Sprint title. He also contributed to Norway’s seasonal Relay title.

A short video interview with Svendsen can be found on the web page, where he talks about his season and his future goals.
