Earth Hour 2010 – Switching off the lights for the climate
DnB NOR is took part in Earth Hour 2010, the worldwide climate initiative, together with 300 Norwegian companies on Saturday, 27 March.
“DnB NOR wishes to show its customers and employees that we support Earth Hour. We also encourage them to join us in this symbolic event”, says Hilde Røed in External Relations at DnB NOR.
On Saturday, 27 March between 20.30 and 21.30 local time, DnB NOR switched off the lights in all its office premises.
Earth Hour was started in 2007 by the World Wide Fund for Nature, and last year 2 million Norwegians joined the event. The aim this year is that one billion people will participate in Earth Hour across the globe.

This will not entail major changes for DnB NOR as all lighting, apart from emergency lighting, is normally switched off in the evening.
