Commercial TV face cut-backs
Commercial channel TVNorge has announced that it will drop all sports and newscasts, as well as weather forecasts and the program Spotlight at the end of the year. TV 2 has announced cuts worth between NOK 60 and 70 million.
TV 2 says preliminary estimates show that income from commercials will drop by NOK 350 million this year, compared with last year.
The TV 2 management says this means cuts in staff costs, which could mean lower salaries.
The news and feature programs for TVNorge have been produced by Mastif Nyheter, and Mastif CEO Øystein Krstiansen says around 40 persons will lose their jobs.
