During his visit to San Francisco Tuesday, Crown Prince Haakon visitied the Seamen’s Church there, while the royal couple ended their U.S. visit with worship and coffee in the Seamen’s Church in New York. It is named after King Olav V, while the Seamen’s Church in Paris takes its name from Queen Sonja. There is no royal obligation to give one’s name to a seaman’s church, but it has become a tradition.
