Chess: Carlsen number one

Magnus CarlsenAs the youngest chess player ever, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen (19) now tops the list over the world’s top players, after his match at the London Chess Classic against British Michael Adams on Monday ended in a draw.

Carlsen whose 19th birthday was on November 30th, is also the first player from a western nation to reach the top since Bobby Fisher in1972.

The Norwegian will meet Nigel Short on Tuesday in the last round of the tournament.
