Join us for a Special Lecture by Birger Eide, Instructor from Lillehammer, Norway, on “The Ways of Norway: Past, Present, Future” on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Seattle, Wash.
Birger Eide taught for many years at the gymnasium in Lillehammer and continues as a lecturer at the Høgskolen i Lillehammer, the Lillehammer College, speaking on Norwegian culture, contemporary issues and history.
He also teaches students from Luther College and Concordia (Moorhead) College for their annual spring “Scandinavia and the Baltic” semester abroad based in Lillehammer, as well as for Luther College’s summer lecture series in Decorah, Iowa.
In addition to provocative lectures on politics, history and social issues, he often brings his students into a more total cultural immersion: cross country skiing, bonfires in the mountains, and fishing excursions to western Norway – among other experiences!
He is a memorable and engaging speaker, and has a wicked sense of humor.
