Bergen to outfit five more vessels for Boa Group

RISSA, NORWAY: Bergen Group ASA, through its shipyard subsidiary Bergen Group Fosen, has signed contracts with Boa Group for the outfitting of four VS495-design multipurpose platform supply vessels (MPSVs) and one MT6007-design PSV. The total value of the contracts is US$ 413.78 million.

All five vessels will have hulls constructed in Nantong Mingde, China. The VS495 MPSVs will have a length over all of 318 feet (97 m), a beam of 69 feet (21 m) and are 4,200 deadweight tons (dwt). The MT6007 will be 262 feet (80 m) long, have a 54-foot (16.4-m) beam and be 3,500 dwt.

Boa Group earlier signed contracts for six vessels at Bergen Group Fosen. The first of two electromagnetic seabed logging vessels operated by EMGS has been delivered and the second will be delivered this summer. Also four anchor handling tug supply vessels have been contracted for delivery between 2010 and 2011.

Including the five new contracts, Boa Group has committed to outfitting a total of 11 vessels at Bergen Group Fosen.

Bergen Group Fosen is part of Bergen Group’s Shipbuilding Division and is located at Rissa, Norway. All contracts are subject to financing and board approvals.
