Arctic Challenge Countdown

The world’s best transition riders have converged in Oslo, Norway, to participate in the 10th anniversary of the Oakley Arctic Challenge, Terje Haakonsen’s legendary, if slightly mysterious, invitational competition.
This year records are at stake with Thursday’s Classic Straight Air being predicted by many as the day Haakonsen’s 9.8 meter mark will be beaten. History may also be made on Saturday with Kevin Pearce here to attempt a record third straight quarter pipe victory. A diverse field, hand picked by Haakonsen and including legends like Ingemar Backman and Gian Simmen are charged against younger riders like Shayne Pospisil and Matt Ladley.
