Aker Solutions has signed a partnership agreement with the Arabian Consulting Engineering Centre (ACEC) to support its plans to grow in the engineering services market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Aker Solutions will provide the managerial and technical support to expand ACEC’s engineering services business.  ACEC is a well-established general engineering services contractor approved and licensed by Saudi Aramco. It currently employs 160 staff.

The partnership will also enable Aker Solutions to further expand its current engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business by working with Sheikh Bugshan the owner of ACEC to form a separate joint venture for the execution of In-Kingdom EPC projects. This is an important step towards positioning Aker Solutions for the Saudi Aramco initiative for the execution of small to medium EPC projects In-Kingdom.

The signing ceremony took place in the ACEC offices in Al-Khobar city. The Aker Solutions team was led by Johan Cnossen, president of Aker Solutions’ Process business unit, accompanied by Henk Dolman, general manager of Aker Process Gulf Co Ltd and Mohammed Sammur, who has been seconded from Aker Solutions to become the new managing director of ACEC.  The ACEC management team was led by Sheikh Bugshan, accompanied by Mohammed Al-Sofi and Haroun Al-Sofi.
