15-year-old Norwegian plays in the big leagues
Young Norwegian impresses big English soccer team.
Norwegian soccer team Sandnes Ulf’s great and relatively unknown talent Zymer Bytyqi (15) played last week at a trial game with the Premier League club Newcastle United.
And according to Sandnesposten.no, the young player has impressed Newcastle so much during training that they would like to see more of the 15-year-old.
Newcastle is not the only English club that has shown interest in Bytyqi. Manchester United and Stoke, according to local newspapers, also want to see the Sandnes Ulf player.
“He is one of the best on the G15 team. Of course there is interest in him. He is a great talent, but it’s about taking one step at a time,” said Bytyqu’s agent Jim Solbakken to Sandnesposten in September.
Bytyqi’s agent, who also is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s agent, ordered several young players to practice with Manchester United earlier this year.
Solbakken also played a central role when goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, formerly of Aalesund, was ready to enter the big English clubs.
Interest in Bytyqi has skyrocketed after he distinguished himself greatly on the G15 team in September by, among other things, scoring the winning goal in one game with several big clubs represented in the stands.
Viking is one of these clubs, but the agent believes the Stavanger club will be small compared to the clubs that have the player in mind.
Currently, he is remaining with Sandnes Ulf.
“As of now, Zymer is very happy in Sandnes Ulf. The club’s mission will be to facilitate him in the best possible way, and as long as they do it, he is in the right place,” said Solbakken in Sandnesposten in September.
Bytyqi trains with Sandnes Ulf’s A-team, which is fighting for promotion to the Premier League. But because of his young age he has no opportunity to play league matches for Sandnes Ulf this year.
