Fallen officer’s body back in Norway
The body of the Norwegian intelligence officer, Trond Petter Kolset (30) from Steinkjer killed in Afghanistan last Friday has been flown back to Norway. The plane landed at the Gardermoen military airfield Tuesday afternoon.
The bier was received with full military honors, followed by a closed ceremony, in part to protect the identity of intelligence personnel present, according to Aftenposten.
Defense Minister Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen participated in the ceremony.
This is the first time a Norwegian intelligence officer has been lost while on a peacekeeping mission.
